What Led the October 12-14, 2026 Sale

The 1979 South Africa 1 oz Gold Krugerrand, Choice BU took the top of the board at $4,400, ahead of the 1915 Cuba 0.9675 oz Gold 20 Pesos, Closely Uncirculated at $4,200 and the 2000 Australia 1 oz Gold $100, Sydney Olympics, Gem Proof at $3,400. Gold carried 11 of the 15 top lots, which is typical of our sales. One of the leaders was third-party certified; the rest sold raw on the strength of the photographs and honest descriptions.

Weekly estate sales like this one are where patient bidders do their best work. The material comes straight from estates and long-held collections, the boards run deeper than the headline numbers, and low opening bids mean the market alone decides where each lot lands. How these numbers come about is covered in our guide to how coin auctions work, and the coin grading guide explains the certified and raw grades used in the descriptions above.
